The ‘Seven Thunders’ portray prophesied events within the prophecies of the first and second angel’s messages

Friday Morning Manna

The ‘Seven Thunders’ portray prophesied events within the prophecies of the first and second angel’s messages

Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle (dove) and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but My people know not the judgment of the Lord. Jeremiah 8: 7, K.J.V.

SEVEN is a significant number in the Bible. It denotes perfection and completeness, and is often referred to as God’s number. It suggests the height of: purification, worship, the gospel light, Spirits, seals, trumpets, angels, heads and crowns, plagues, and kings. On the other hand, thunder, literally a sound produced by lightning is figurative of God’s power (Job 26: 14); control (Ps. 104: 7); majesty (Rev. 4: 5), and visitations of judgment (Rev. 11: 19).   Read more

The Fourth of the Seven Trumpets: What the ‘smiting of the third part of the sun, moon, and stars’ mean

The Fourth of the Seven Trumpets: What the ‘smiting of the third part of the sun, moon, and stars’ mean

And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.” Revelation 8: 12, K.J.V.

“The sun, moon, and stars have been interpreted to represent the great luminaries of the Western Roman government—its emperors, senators, and consuls. With the extinction of Western Rome in A.D. 476, the last of the emperors ceased to reign. Later its senate and consulship came to an end.” Elucidating on the seven trumpets, specifically the fourth, Uriah Smith, in his book Daniel and the Revelation, quotes at least three historians–Gibbon, Keith, and Elliott, whose individual works share the same interpretation of the trumpets. A Review of the First Three of the Seven Trumpets

Compared and contrasted to the hours given over to the multiplying distractions, deceptions and schemes of Satan for these last days, the dearth of interest in the seven trumpets (as with the seven churches, seven seals, and seven last plagues) of Revelation, should cause grave concern for the watchmen and light bearers of these last days—the faithful members of the remnant church of prophecy. These, and other present truth prophecies were designed to educate them for their sacred mission of dispelling the thick fog of error, Read more

The Last Three of the Seven are Woe Trumpets; the Fifth & Sixth Trumpets: Islam’s Role in Prophecy

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“The Roman Empire declined, as it arose, by conquest; but the Saracens and Turks were the instruments by which a false religion became the scourge of an apostate church.”

– Alexander Keith

In my King James Bible, “woe” is mentioned 104 times; 66 times in the Old and 38 in the New. Its plural form “woes,” appears only once, Rev.9: 12. In the New Testament the Greek ouai, meaning “exclamation of grief: woe, alas” is used in the following verses:  Rev. 8: 13; 9: 12; 11: 14; 12: 12.  The same is repeated in Matt. 11: 21; 18: 7: 23: 13, 14, 15, 16, 23, 25, 27, 29; 24: 19; 26: 24.

The Seven Angels, the Mighty Angel, the Seven Thunders, and the ‘Little Book’

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

The Seven Angels, the Mighty Angel, the Seven Thunders, and the ‘Little Book’

And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of first. Revelation 10: 1, K.J.V

Another mighty angel. – That is, in addition to the seven angels in charge of the seven trumpets who had earlier appeared to John in vision. He is apparently distinct from the angels who hold the four winds (ch. 7: 1), from those with the seven trumpets (ch. 8: 2), from the angel at the altar (ch. 8: 3), and from those in the river Euphrates [symbolically]. This angel Read more

What are the Seven Trumpets of Revelation 9?

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

We elect a government; the president presides over that government.”

Ken Starr, former Independent Counsel

The adage, ‘Prophecy is history written in advance; history is prophecy fulfilled,’ is helpful in interpreting and understanding the seven trumpets of Revelation.  A quick review of well-documented world history, specifically of and during the reign of the Roman Empire composed of its eastern and western divisions clearly reveal the history that fulfills this amazing prophecy.    Read more

And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eight and is of the seven, and goeth to perdition. Revelation 17: 11, K.J.V.

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eight and is of the seven, and goeth to perdition. Revelation 17: 11, K.J.V.

That is, the “eighth beast” who “was,” and “is not”—is “of the seven beasts,” “and “goes into perdition.”

This last “beast” or “eight” beast is not another separate beast in the line of succession of the prophetic beast of sacred and world history. He is “of the seven” previous beasts, and, clearly, the final composite form of the outstanding characteristics of all the rest. This follows the given explanation of the leopard-like beast in the introduction of Revelation 13.   Read more

If you know the enemy, and you know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.” – Sun Tzu, Chinese military strategist
From Facts of Faith by Christian Edwardson (Revised), chapter: The Prophetic History of the World, pp. 34-38. Southern Publishing Asso. Nashville 8 TN, U.S.A., 1943:
THE PROPHECIES of the Bible are not difficult to understand—if we follow the rules laid down in Scripture for interpreting prophecy. These rules are few in number, and they are not complicated. When used in connection with prophetic symbols, ‘sea,’ or ‘waters’ stand for ‘multitudes of people’ (Rev. 17: 15; Isa. 8: 7; 17: 12; Jer. 6: 23); ‘wind’ stands for ‘war’ (Jer. 4: 12, 13; 25: 31, 32); ‘beasts’ stands for ‘kingdoms’ (Dan. 7: 23); and ‘days’ for ‘years [of 360 days] (Eze.4: 6).  Read more
