Do We Really Know the Prophets/Prophecies that We Need to Know?

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1: 20, 21, N.K.J.V.

Verse 19 of these scriptures says: “We also have the prophetic word made more sure, which you do well to take heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Morning Star rises in your hearts.”

How is the prophetic word made more sure? If we pay heed to—not just to any prophecies often introduced with curiosity-arousing “new” interpretations that ignore the “precept upon precept, line upon lite, here a little, there a little” test of Isaiah 28: 9,10, 13, but to thosemade more sure, i.e.,  secured and vetted by the sheer preponderance and weight of the combined, exhaustive, harmonious continuum of the corroborating prophetic testimonies of God’s Old and New Testament prophets/messengers.  All their prophecies and messages were, in fact, testimonies pointing to the Prophet to come, the Messiah, “the Holy One and the Just.” to come, Jesus Christ the Righteous.

The Only Real Celestial Star-Spangled Movement

The Only Real Celestial Star-Spangled Movement

I looked when he opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Rev. 6: 12, 13, N.K.J.V.

In the prophesied final coming storm, relentless in its fury, we have the full assurance that the Advent Movement will continue withstanding the closest scrutiny of Scriptures undertaken by any truth-loving, diligent Bible student. It has already achieved this as well as the test of time. Whether they are aware not, this has been attested to by a cross-section of religious, secular, and scientific authorities. Thus will it withstand the most desperate and concerted efforts by last day scoffers, naysayers and enemies of the testing truths of the three angels’ messages.

Second Half of the Seven Thunders: the Moral Fall of the Churches

This Thanksgiving, let’s thank God for religious liberty and helping us better understand what the “seven thunders” were–a delineation of clustered events and time prophecies that would be understood only after the events had accomplished their appointed work. These are: Read more

Is our religion the religion of man? or of Christ and the Bible?

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Is our religion the religion of man? or of Christ and the Bible?

“God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man that He should repent; hath He said, and shall not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall He not make it good?” Numbers 23: 19.

To anyone first reading this column and wonders who and what are paramount and supreme in all its articles and reports, look no further. First, it is God the Father in Christ Jesus as revealed in the wonders of creation but especially in the Bible through enlightenment of the Holy Spirit upon the mind of the searcher, and, the plan of redemption of the gospel. So before we return to the topic of the series, consider the following from the inspired pen of Ellen G. White, based on the Bible which more than adequately articulates the foregoing:   Read more

The Acts of Apostleship Continues Until the Work is Done

Ye are are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men; forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart. 2 Corinthians  3: 2, 3, K.J.V.

Great Controversy by Ellen G. White, (1911 ed.), pp.  54-56:

“In the sixth century the papacy became firmly established. Its seat of power was fixed in the imperial city, and the bishop of Rome was declared to be the head over the entire church. Paganism had given place to the papacy [the great apostasy of the church in the union of church and state]. The dragon [pagan Rome] had given to the beast ‘his power, and his seat, and great authority.’ Rev. 13: 2.  And now began the 1260 years of papal oppression foretold in the prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation Dan. 7: 25; Rev. 13: 5-7. CHRISTIANS were forced to choose either to yield their integrity and accept the papal ceremonies and worship, or to wear away their lives in dungeons or suffer death by the rack, the fagot, or the headsman’s axe.  Thyatira:  Only One of the Seven Containing Recognition of Improvement

I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works: and the last to be more than the first. Rev.2: 19, K.J.V.

“As applied to Christian history, the message[s] to Thyatira [Rev. 2: 18-29] is particularly appropriate to experience of the church during the Dark Ages,” 538-1798 A.D. “The Dark Ages proved to be a time of surpassing difficulty for those who truly loved and served God” [as it will be in the closing, rapid final events of earth’s probation just ahead of our final generation], “and the Thyatira period may well be called the Age of Adversity. Because of persecution the flame of truth flickered and nearly went out” [had not God shortened the Dark Ages with the rise of the Protestant Reformation led by Martin Luther in Germany about a quarter of century before 1798. Matt. 24: 21, 22. Read more

TWO LAYMEN DISCIPLES TESTIFY TO THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST

See Luke 24: 13-33. We may never be called to occupy a prominent place in Christ’s work but if we are earnest and honest believers in Him, we are His disciples with whom He walks and talks with through the Holy Spirit as we walk our personal dark, lonely “road to Emmaus.” But in time, we can also tell a wonderful story of our walk to Emmaus and say, in retrospect, when hindsight is 20/20, “Did not our hearts burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?”

Christ is even now walking and talking with us, though we don’t immediately hear or recognize it, perhaps because of dwelling upon the dark shadow of the cross instead of its glorious, resurrection side! The beloved apostle says: “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” John 1: 2-5, N.K.J.V. Read more
