Is our religion the religion of man? or of Christ and the Bible?

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

Is our religion the religion of man? or of Christ and the Bible?

“God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man that He should repent; hath He said, and shall not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall He not make it good?” Numbers 23: 19.

To anyone first reading this column and wonders who and what are paramount and supreme in all its articles and reports, look no further. First, it is God the Father in Christ Jesus as revealed in the wonders of creation but especially in the Bible through enlightenment of the Holy Spirit upon the mind of the searcher, and, the plan of redemption of the gospel. So before we return to the topic of the series, consider the following from the inspired pen of Ellen G. White, based on the Bible which more than adequately articulates the foregoing:   Read more

The Acts of Apostleship Continues Until the Work is Done

Ye are are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men; forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart. 2 Corinthians  3: 2, 3, K.J.V.

Great Controversy by Ellen G. White, (1911 ed.), pp.  54-56:

“In the sixth century the papacy became firmly established. Its seat of power was fixed in the imperial city, and the bishop of Rome was declared to be the head over the entire church. Paganism had given place to the papacy [the great apostasy of the church in the union of church and state]. The dragon [pagan Rome] had given to the beast ‘his power, and his seat, and great authority.’ Rev. 13: 2.  And now began the 1260 years of papal oppression foretold in the prophecies of Daniel and the Revelation Dan. 7: 25; Rev. 13: 5-7. CHRISTIANS were forced to choose either to yield their integrity and accept the papal ceremonies and worship, or to wear away their lives in dungeons or suffer death by the rack, the fagot, or the headsman’s axe. Rejoice: the Spiritual Apostolic Succession Remains Unbroken!

Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus. Hebrews 3: 1, K.J.V.

From the most comprehensive and inclusive sense possible, based on the preponderance of both Scripture and history evidence, this is how and who “the church that appears to fall but will not.” Why? It’s Cornerstone and Foundation has been from birth, none other than Jesus Christ, the Creator-incarnate, the Master Apostle and High Priest of its faith. His chosen follower-disciples-apostles through centuries of gross moral and doctrinal darkness, superstition, and bitter persecution, have steadily and progressively built this church-temple, empowered by the Holy Spirit and ministered to and defended from all that Satan’s “gates of hell” have schemed and attacked it by.  THANKSGIVING THOUGHTS EVEN AS THE TUMULTUOUS YEAR 2017 WEARS AWAY

The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: the eye of your understanding be enlightened. Ephesians 1: 17, 18, KJV. [This is my earnest wish and prayer for you!]

I missed preparing and sending to “Kuya” Charles Fegarido for (possible) posting on the Cyberlink the FMM for the 17th of this month due to human incapacitation. I apologize even for that failure.

David reminds all—both high and mighty as we sadly read about their graphic downfall and humiliation in today’s overloaded information systems, and to all “small and great, rich or poor, free and slave”:  “As a farther pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him, for He knows out frame; He remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember to do them.” Psalms 103: 13-18. QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Men works on the plan of addition, God, on the plan of multiplication.

Quoted from Desire of Ages, Ellen G. White, “Give Ye Them to Eat,” chapter XXXIX, pp. 364-371, based on Matt. 14: 13-21; Mark 6: 32-44; Luke 9: 10-17; John 6: 1-13: —

“Christ had retired to a secluded place with His disciples, but this rare season of peaceful quietude was soon broken. The disciples thought they had retired where they would not be disturbed; but as soon as the multitude missed the divine Teacher, they inquired, ‘Where is He?’ . . . .The Passover was at hand, and, from far and near, bands of pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem gathered to see Jesus. Additions were made to their number, until there were assembled five thousand men besides women and children . .   Read more
