Second Half of the Seven Thunders: the Moral Fall of the Churches

This Thanksgiving, let’s thank God for religious liberty and helping us better understand what the “seven thunders” were–a delineation of clustered events and time prophecies that would be understood only after the events had accomplished their appointed work. These are: Read more

And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eight and is of the seven, and goeth to perdition. Revelation 17: 11, K.J.V.

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eight and is of the seven, and goeth to perdition. Revelation 17: 11, K.J.V.

That is, the “eighth beast” who “was,” and “is not”—is “of the seven beasts,” “and “goes into perdition.”

This last “beast” or “eight” beast is not another separate beast in the line of succession of the prophetic beast of sacred and world history. He is “of the seven” previous beasts, and, clearly, the final composite form of the outstanding characteristics of all the rest. This follows the given explanation of the leopard-like beast in the introduction of Revelation 13.   Read more

QUOTE FOR THE WEEK

“It is more palatable to human nature to do penance than to renounce sin.”

– Ellen G. White, 4SOP 383.

Are you finding yourself somehow attracted to the bigly distractions of political theater and stunts sweeping across America?  Do you find some kind of a twisted, guilty  pleasure of watching and listening to the “sounds of war” in both sophisticated and blatant lying, accusations and denials causing confusion that appear to rule the day? QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

“We have yet to learn that the whole Jewish economy is a compacted prophecy of the gospel. It is the gospel in figures. E. G. White, Manuscript 130, Nov. 23, 1897.

True Happiness According to the Scriptures

FRIDAY MORNING MANNA

True Happiness According to the Scriptures

Happy is the man who finds, and the man who gains understanding . . . . her ways are the ways of pleasantness, and all her ways are peace . . . .and happy are all who retain her(see Proverbs 3: 13-18, NKJV.)

HAPPY NEW YEAR! But how do we make this really happen? Is there fail-proof formula? By what metric do we measure this specific happiness’ index? In what meaningful sense will 2018 really be new? How did we start it beginning New Year’s Eve, i.e., by sunset of January 31 of the 1017?

Was it “peaceful and quiet with family members,” as the pleasant pharmacy tech at Loma Linda Community Pharmacy told me yesterday or like the world celebrates with a super-boosted adrenaline trip from a sugar high and other popular boosters through to past midnight, winding up with a nasty headache and a downer “rainy days and Mondays” feeling —into the very first day of the New Year?  “A journey of a thousand miles [or a year] begins with the first step.” Read more

Thyatira: Only One of the Seven Containing Recognition of Improvement

Thyatira:  Only One of the Seven Containing Recognition of Improvement

I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works: and the last to be more than the first. Rev.2: 19, K.J.V.

“As applied to Christian history, the message[s] to Thyatira [Rev. 2: 18-29] is particularly appropriate to experience of the church during the Dark Ages,” 538-1798 A.D. “The Dark Ages proved to be a time of surpassing difficulty for those who truly loved and served God” [as it will be in the closing, rapid final events of earth’s probation just ahead of our final generation], “and the Thyatira period may well be called the Age of Adversity. Because of persecution the flame of truth flickered and nearly went out” [had not God shortened the Dark Ages with the rise of the Protestant Reformation led by Martin Luther in Germany about a quarter of century before 1798. Matt. 24: 21, 22. Read more
